Covered is a new contemporary / urban gospel group formed in Atlanta GA. Their sound is a mixture of all different genres of music that brings a new sound to gospel and a new worship spirit. With their influences coming from your old school Kirk Franklin to Israel l & New Breed to your new school Tye Tribbett, they wanted to bring a new twist to gospel. They started back in January of 2015 with their founder / songwriter Terri Grant who had the vision. She started by asking Demetre Simmons to partner with her to help create the vision that God gave her. From here the two started the journey. In the beginning, family members and church members help out by joining the group to help get everything started. It was rough and it was hard but they pushed through. In September 2015 they did their first demo with the songs “Move” and “Do You Trust Me”. In October of 2015 they did their first performance at Demetre’s Musician Appreciation Event in Fairburn, GA and they group performed “Move” and “Do You Trust Me”. Shortly after this the group fell apart and Terri and Demetre had to rebuild coming into the year of 2016. In this year they found two amazing singers that took the group to the next level, Bernard Dorsey and Sydney Shorter.. From here they went back to working on the vision God had for them. Demetre and Terri started getting equipment and all the tools the group needed and started back recording with Demetre as their recording engineer and music composer. Demetre and Terri both produced the group with recordings of the songs. With the new Covered group, they did their 1st on stage performance in August 2016 at Praise on the Fairburn Stage and Courtyard and got offered their 1st radio interview after the show. The group re-recorded “Move” in September of 2016 and it was finished in October 2016. The group also did their first radio interview on October 14, 2016 which aired on October 27 on WTTN kingdom radio station in Fairburn, Ga. The group is continuing to do God’s work and are still making music to share with the world.
